Butyl Rubber (IIR), also known as Poly(isobutylene-co-isoprene), CAS 9010-85-9, is a synthetic rubber widely used as a key raw material in tape sealant formulations. It is produced by the copolymerization of isobutylene with a small amount of isoprene, forming a polymer with excellent airtightness, flexibility, and long-term sealing stability.
Due to its very low gas and moisture permeability, butyl rubber is an important base material for butyl rubber sealing tapes, waterproof tapes, and industrial adhesive sealant systems.
